MUNICH, Germany — At IFAT Munich 2026, Vary Tech, Evonik and SupeZET announced a full-chain chemical recycling process package that converts mixed, mechanically non-recyclable polyolefin waste into high-quality plastic pyrolysis oil — PPO — and circular naphtha for petrochemical and low-carbon fuel value chains.
The launch responds to a fast-changing regulatory landscape in Europe and Asia, where packaging, automotive and plastic-waste rules are pushing the market toward verified recycled content, traceable feedstock and higher-value circular materials. The partners aim to move chemical recycling beyond basic pyrolysis by integrating pretreatment, continuous oxygen-free pyrolysis, oil purification, hydrogenation, fractionation and product offtake into one commercially deployable package.
At the exhibition, Vary Tech and SupeZET also signed a strategic agreement to establish CARBON LOOP SYSTEMS PTE. LTD. in Singapore as an international platform focused on waste-plastic chemical recycling and biomass-to-SAF solutions. Together with Evonik and Singapore-based JE Synergy, the parties signed an MOU for a closed-loop demonstration project for post-consumer plastics in Singapore, supporting the country's Zero Waste Masterplan and regional demand for compliant circular feedstocks.
The package is centered on Vary Tech's oxygen-free pyrolysis technology, developed through more than 20 years of engineering iteration. The system is designed for broad PP/PE feedstock compatibility, a single-line capacity of up to 150 tons per day and more than 8,000 operating hours per year. Pyrolysis oil is then upgraded through Evonik's purification module and SupeZET's hydrogenation and fractionation process to remove impurities, stabilize quality and produce circular naphtha and high-quality PPO suitable for international petrochemical supply chains.
For brand owners, petrochemical producers, refiners and waste-management operators, the integrated solution addresses three critical bottlenecks: unstable mixed-plastic feedstock, inconsistent pyrolysis oil quality and the lack of bankable routes from waste plastics to high-value circular hydrocarbons. By combining equipment, process know-how, purification, refining and offtake coordination, the partners seek to reduce project risk and accelerate commercial deployment.
Beyond waste plastics, Vary Tech's pyrolysis platforms have been applied to waste tires, oil sludge, industrial hazardous waste, medical waste and new-energy solid waste, with more than 100 commercial pyrolysis lines delivered globally. At IFAT Munich, Vary Tech also showcased its AI-powered home-appliance dismantling system, designed to process up to 200 units per hour and support high-purity e-waste separation.
From mechanical recycling to chemical recycling, Vary Tech is building full-chain resource recovery solutions for global climate action, circular economy development and industrial decarbonization.
