Recently, Zhou Zhiqiang, former Deputy Director-General of the Solid Waste and Chemicals Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, First-Level Inspector, and President of the Recycled Plastics Branch of the China National Resources Recycling Association, along with Secretary-General Wang Yonggang, visited Vary Tech’s headquarters and its Miluo base for an investigation. Ming Guoying, Chairman of Hunan Vary Tech Co., Ltd., accompanied the delegation.
Zhou Zhiqiang and his team conducted on-site inspections of core sectors including waste plastic recycling, end-of-life appliance dismantling, high-value utilization of appliance waste plastics, and pyrolysis of waste plastics. They highly praised Vary Tech’s groundbreaking achievements in addressing challenges related to plastic recycling.

As a pioneer in the resource utilization of solid waste, Vary Tech has driven innovation through technological advancements for over 20 years. Starting with appliance dismantling in 2009, the company has progressively built a comprehensive technical system covering waste plastic front-end collection, mid-end sorting, and back-end physical recycling, chemical recycling, and AI-enabled digital management.

At the Changsha County Green Resource Sorting Center, Vary Tech has established a refined recycling and sorting system covering six major categories and 58 subcategories of plastics, including PET, PP, PE, low-value waste plastics, and waste rubber. Through standardized classification, packaging, and directional transportation, various types of waste plastics are ultimately transformed via deep processing. Leveraging its subsidiaries—Hunan Vary Solid Waste, Miluo Vary E-Waste, and Vary Rili—the company has formed a closed-loop system encompassing “front-end collection, mid-end sorting, and back-end resource recovery and regeneration.” This system covers high-value utilization of appliance waste plastics and chemical recycling of mixed plastics from domestic, industrial, and medical sources.
This investigation highlights the core trends in the recycled plastics industry: physical recycling must pursue efficiency through refinement and automation; chemical recycling will become a key pathway for large-scale disposal of low-value plastics; and digital-intelligent management serves as the cornerstone for ensuring supply chain credibility. Vary Tech’s practices demonstrate that through integrated full-chain technologies and innovative business models, China’s recycled plastics industry is rapidly transitioning from “low-end recycling” to “high-tech value addition.”
Looking ahead, the development of a circular economy for plastics requires comprehensive innovation across the entire “reduce-reuse-recycle” chain, where technological advancements and model upgrades are indispensable. Vary Tech’s exploration not only charts a course for the industry but also provides innovative solutions to address global plastic pollution challenges.
