Recently, Michael Wild, Chairman of the International Biomass Torrefaction and Carbonisation Council (IBTC), led a six-member international technical delegation on a multi-day visit to Vary Tech. The visit included in-depth exchanges, site inspections, and collaborative discussions on biomass carbon metallurgy technology, injecting new momentum into the sustainable development of the global biocarbon industry.

  • International Collaboration Drives Industry Innovation

IBTC is an international organization dedicated to advancing biomass carbonization technologies. The visiting delegation represented leading global mining and metallurgical enterprises actively promoting green metallurgical innovations. Team members shared cutting-edge technologies for replacing traditional coal with biocarbon to achieve decarbonization goals. These breakthroughs aim to substitute conventional metallurgical coal and coke with biomass-based fuels to produce green pig iron, significantly reducing carbon emissions. Such advancements hold profound implications for the sustainable development of the global mining and steel industries.

Vary Tech recognized the potential of biocarbon years ago. Leveraging its proprietary "oxygen-free pyrolysis" core technology, the company has focused on the advanced development of biocarbon, securing a competitive edge in the field and positioning itself as a key driver of the industry’s green transition.

During the visit, the delegation toured Vary Tech’s Henan Industrial Operation Base to observe innovations in biocarbon-based material development and applications. They inspected the operational status of the newly developed "biomass drying combined with pyrolysis and direct combustion" technology. Project leaders discussed raw material supply chains, product specifications, and challenges encountered during operations.

The international team commended Vary Tech as an industry pioneer, praising its spirit of innovation and leadership.

  • Global Market Prospects and Strategic Partnerships

With rising global demand for clean energy, the biocarbon market holds vast potential, particularly in regions such as Europe, Japan, and South Korea. biocarbon is poised to play a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions, contributing significantly to global environmental goals.

Discussions between the delegation and Vary Tech covered topics such as industry standard formulation, technological innovation, international conferences, and global biomass market trends.

IBTC Chairman Michael Wild highly commended Vary Tech’s role as IBTC’s sole member organization in China. He expressed strong approval of the company’s ongoing development of China’s first large-scale industrialized biocarbon production line, highlighting its exceptional technical capabilities.

As an expert with over two decades of industry experience, Wild offered valuable recommendations to Vary Tech, emphasizing the importance of raw material pretreatment, efficient utilization of pyrolysis gases, and accelerating the deployment of demonstration lines.

During the exchange, Vary Tech’s Chairman, Ming Guoying, reiterated the company’s responsibilities and mission as IBTC’s exclusive Chinese member. He pledged to leverage the company’s strengths to actively participate in global biocarbon standard development and R&D initiatives, driving technological progress in the industry.

Both parties expressed mutual intent to establish a global biocarbon research center. This technical exchange and inspection not only affirmed Vary Tech’s innovative capabilities in the biocarbon sector but also laid a foundation for its expansion into global markets.

As a leading representative of China’s biocarbon technology, Vary Tech will continue to deepen international collaborations, steering the global mining and metallurgical industries toward greener and more sustainable practices, while contributing Chinese expertise to global climate change mitigation efforts.
