On July 2, the opening and unveiling ceremony for the Yiyang Full-Category Recyclables Green Sorting Center was held at Longshangang Pioneer Park. Hosted by the Yiyang Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the Yiyang Municipal Urban Management Bureau, the event was co-organized by Green Resource Recycling Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Yiyang Yinxiang State-owned Assets Investment and Operation Group) and Vary Tech Resource Recycling Group Co., Ltd.
Among the distinguished attendees were Huang Jianhua, Secretary and Director of the Party Leadership Group of the Yiyang Municipal Urban Management Bureau, and Liu Songtao, Secretary and Director of the Party Leadership Group of the Yiyang Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Their presence marked the official launch of Hunan's first intelligent, full-category green sorting center for recyclables.
This milestone not only strengthens Vary Tech's circular economy footprint in northern Hunan but also delivers a powerful green boost to Yiyang's Zero-Waste City initiative.
Breaking the "Garbage Siege" – Smart Full-Category Sorting Sets a New Industry Standard
As urbanization accelerates and China pursues its dual-carbon goals, the traditional recycling industry has long struggled with fragmented supply chains, low efficiency, and secondary pollution. The new Yiyang Green Sorting Center offers a systematic answer to these challenges.
Spanning 5,622 square meters, the facility houses five dedicated production lines for plastics, household sundries, foam, waste paper, and waste textiles. It is one of the first in China to achieve fully automated sorting, crushing, and separation across all plastic categories – powered by a deep integration of IoT and AI. The result: significantly higher sorting precision and processing speed.
With a designed daily capacity of 140 tons, the center is projected to generate an annual output value of over ¥100 million. Once running at full capacity, it will push Yiyang's household waste recycling rate above 35% and its resource utilization rate to 80%. Equally important, it will cut municipal solid waste incineration by 50,000 tons each year – a major step forward in waste reduction and resource recovery.
Remarkably, this benchmark project went from planning to full operation in just six months – a true "Yiyang speed" for green industrial development.
Government and Industry Join Forces – Smart Circular Technology in Action
The unveiling ceremony was brief but impactful. Chen Zhiyue, Deputy Director of the Yiyang Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, delivered the opening address. Directors Liu Songtao and Huang Jianhua then jointly unveiled the center's plaque and started the production lines – setting the facility into commercial operation amid a celebratory burst of golden confetti.
Guests were then invited to tour the modern workshop, where they observed the five intelligent production lines in action, along with the efficient weighing and settlement system and the facility's full-chain digital management platform. The entire process – from AI-powered "smart eye" identification and robotic sorting to crushing and resource regeneration – made the journey from waste to valuable resource tangible and compelling, drawing widespread praise from all visitors.
